After "disappearing" from public to ease the heat on Obama's campaign, the "Reverend" Jeremiah Wright made his first public appearance in days Friday night AT A CATHOLIC CHURCH.
If that wasn't disgraceful enough, Wright was present because the parish was having an event to honor the oh-so-chic-and-relevant poet Maya Angelou. For those parents who think Maya Angelou is just that smiling older woman on Sesame Street, Angelou is also the author of I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, a PC autobiography filled with obscenities and moral emptiness that is shoved down the throats of impressionable junior high school students as required curriculum in public schools across America. I won't dignify the book by saying it should be banned--it shouldn't. It should just be forgotten. If you want to examine why this book is so disgustingly inappropriate for young teenagers, you can find out more here. Angelou has also distinguished herself by working as a madam for a lesbian escort service.
Father Michael Pfleger, the Pastor of Saint Sabina's, the parish where Angelou was honored, could surely find a more appropriate role model for his congregation. Then again, this fine Catholic priest has publicly expressed his support for ultra-pro-abort Barack Obama. This is also not the first time that Fr. Pfleger has been involved in a public controversy unbefitting a Catholic priest.
So here are a few questions that perhaps one of my readers can answer:
Why isn't the Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal George lifting a finger to correct this priest?
Why is it that when we approach our bishops and priests about condemning abortion, they frequently whine, "We can't make political statements" yet this left-wing mouthpiece in a Roman collar can lead his flock to violate canon law with impunity?
Aren't we as Catholics, supposed to oppose Marxism? Yet this priest publicly embraces a preacher (and political candidate) who have co-opted Marxist principles and cloaked them in new language.
Aren't we supposed to be people of love--not hate? Why then, is this priest honoring a preacher of hate speech?
Although there is no email listing for His Eminence, Cardinal George, you can email his chancellor, Jimmy Lago, here. You can also email the Archdiocese's Director of Communications, Collen Dolan, here.
